Woman seriously injured in St. Catharines stabbing, man wanted

A midnight stabbing in St. Catharines believed to be isolated but targeted sent a woman to an out-of-region hospital with a serious injury.

Niagara police were called out in the early hours of Oct. 29 to the area of Gale Crescent and Frank Street for a reported stabbing.

When the police arrived the woman was already receiving treatment from Niagara paramedics.

Police reports say that a man and the female victim had a brief interaction before it escalated into violence.

The identity of the male suspect is not known. He is now wanted.

The man is described as white, 18-25 years of age, 5’7″ in height, with a slim build and short, spiky dirty blonde hair.

The victim’s injury is believed to be non-life threatening.
