Woman dead, others injured after hit-and-run on Gardiner Expressway

A woman in her 50s is dead and two others were left injured after a hit-and-run on the Gardiner Expressway in Toronto early Thursday morning.

The two-vehicle collision at around 2 a.m. sent a woman in her 50s to hospital, where she later died.

The crash also seriously injured a woman in her 20s, and left a child with minor injuries.

Toronto police say the driver of the other vehicle fled the scene before he was found and arrested.

A portion of the expressway was closed for an investigation, but has since reopened.
