Woman, 74, dead after two-vehicle St. Catharines crash

Niagara police say a 74-year-old St. Catharines woman is dead following a two-vehicle collision Wednesday morning.
Officers responded around 9:30 a.m. to the area of Vine and Scott streets for reports of a crash.
Investigators say a 29-year-old Lincoln man driving a Freightliner box truck collided with the elderly woman driving a blue Toyota Matrix.

The Collision Reconstruction and Forensic Services units are investigating the cause of the incident.
The intersection of Vine and Scott streets was closed for around nine hours. The cause of the collision remains under investigation.
Police say no charges have been laid at this time.
