What’s open and closed this Easter weekend in Hamilton, Halton, Niagara

Here’s a look at what is open and closed in our region this Easter weekend.
While Easter weekend includes Good Friday (April 15), Easter Sunday (April 17) and Easter Monday (April 18), the majority of places are only closed on Friday and Sunday.
CLOSED
- Banks, government offices and post offices
- Most grocery stores are not open
- Most LCBO and Beer Store locations are closed
- All Hamilton libraries and museums are closed
- The Farmers’ Market is closed on Friday and Sunday
- Public transit in Fort Erie and Welland is not operating
- There are no changes to garbage collection in Niagara
- Most malls are closed
- Most COVID-19 assessment centres
OPEN
- GO Transit will be running on a Sunday schedule
- Some major tourist attractions will be open including Ripley’s Aquarium of Canada and Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum
- St. Catharines Museum and Welland Canals Centre will be closed on Good Friday but open the rest of the long weekend between 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
- On Good Friday, HSR operates on a holiday schedule, Sunday runs on a normal Sunday schedule and Easter Monday is a regular weekday schedule
- Public transit in Halton, Niagara Falls and St. Catharines will be operating on a Sunday schedule service level
