Here’s a look at what will be open and closed in Hamilton, Halton and Niagara this Canada Day weekend.

Transit

Across all regions, city buses will be operating on a Sunday/holiday schedule. Burlington will resume regular service after 11 p.m. on Saturday

GO transit will operate on a Saturday schedule on both Saturday and Monday.

Open

  • Outdoor pools in the City of Hamilton remain open
  • Outlet Collection at Niagara and CF Toronto Eaton Centre will be open with reduced hours
  • Most Beer Store locations
  • Most major tourist attractions in Niagara Falls and Toronto including the Journey Behind the Falls and Ripley’s Aquarium

Closed

  • Banks, government offices and post offices will be closed Monday
  • Most shopping centres will be closed Saturday including CF Lime Ridge Mall, The Pen Centre and Mapleview Mall
  • Some Shoppers Drug Mart locations will be closed Saturday
  • Major grocery stores will be closed Saturday
  • All LCBO locations will be closed Saturday
  • The Hamilton Farmers’ market will remain closed from Friday through Sunday
  • All Hamilton Public Library branches will be closed Saturday and Sunday
  • All Hamilton city indoor recreation centres will be closed through the weekend
  • Niagara community centres will be closed Monday

Waste Collection

There will be no changes to the recycling or garbage collection across the regions. Pick up will continue as regularly scheduled.
