Vaccine appointments in Hamilton go unfilled

Unfilled COVID-19 vaccination appointments continue to be an issue in Hamilton.
We’re learning that hundreds of shots are sitting around still waiting for an arm at the mass vaccination site at FirstOntario Centre.

This news follows a weekend of unfilled appointments at the Wellington vaccination clinic.

Some Hamilton doctors are calling on the province and the mayor to expand vaccine eligibility to get those appointments filled.
The city says because it’s using the provincial booking system, it must follow the provincial rules for age eligibility.

Halton Region, which is using its own vaccine booking system, has opened vaccinations to residents 60 and older.
Hamilton public health says it has administered a total of 111,578 vaccine doses.
