Tyson attacked by other dogs in home: LCHS

(Update)

There’s a significant shift in focus in the investigation into Tyson, the badly injured dog we’ve been telling you about since last week. When he was found initially, the Lincoln County Humane Society said the person who brough the dog in couldn’t tell them much about the dog’s situation. But now, armed with new information, the investigation is leading in another direction.

The Lincoln County Humane Society says the person who called them about Tyson lied when she said she didn’t know where the dog had come from. It turns out that Tyson belongs to the woman’s daughter. As before, we caution that the pictures we have of Tyson may be disturbing to some viewers.

Tyson looked much better Wednesday than he did when he was first brought in. The humane society now alleges that the woman and her daughter conspired to lie to the Lincoln County Humane Society. When the mother reported the German Shepherd with serious injuries to The LCHS, she claimed that she did not know what happened to him. The society now believes other dogs in the home where Tyson lived attacked him. The owner did say one of her dogs was in heat at the time. The society is now focusing on whether or not charges will be laid and what those charges may be.

Kevin Strooband is with the LCHS: “So if any charges stem from this investigation they could be criminal or provincial charges specifically under the provincial charges they’d be under the Ontario SPCA Act”

If charges are laid, the owner could face a lifetime ban on owning animals, a $60-thousand fine or jail time up to two years.

Tyson is recovering well, and the LCHS is accepting adoption applications until February 7th at 3pm.
