Melanie Joly sends strong message to Marco Rubio

A clear message from Foreign Affairs Minister Melanie Joly to the U.S  Secretary of State. Joly met with Marco Rubio one-on-one during the G7 summit this week in Quebec, and while U.S tariffs and threats to annex Canada weren’t on the formal agenda, they were discussed behind closed doors. Rubio told reporters after the summit that it is the U.S. president’s position that Canada would be better off economically as a state.
