Mark Carney’s first foreign trip strengthens UK and France ties

Mark Carney has made his first foreign trip as prime minister to deepen and further develop trade relations with the United Kingdom and France. Carney met with several officials, including France’s President Emmanuel Macron, during which time he referred to Canada as “the most European of non-European countries.”
