Liberal leader Mark Carney is promising big dollars to help Canada’s auto industry, right before U.S. President Trump’s tariffs on imported manufacturing goods for vehicles.
Carney’s campaign stopped right outside the Canada-U.S. border in Windsor Wednesday, pledging to save thousands of jobs.
However, the Liberal leader is under fire again following a CBC report, saying while working for Brookfield Asset Management, Carney co-chaired two investment funds in Bermuda, a known country that doesn’t impose personal income taxes.
The tax haven was not the only line of questioning, Carney also apologized for blunders when talking talking about the 1889 Montreal massacre at the Ecole Polytechnique.
