Transport truck flips over in Beamsville causing a road closure

Police have re-opened the North Service Rd. in Beamsville, which was closed all day after a transport truck flipped over on its side Wednesday morning.

Officers responded to reports of a collision involving a transport truck shortly after 11 a.m. on North Service Rd. near Ontario St.

Emergency crews arrived to find the truck on its side in a ditch in front of Westbrook Greenhouses.

Police say the transport truck was hauling a large load of vehicle parts when it rolled into the ditch and damaged a hydro pole.

Paramedics assessed the driver who did not suffer any injuries.

The North Service Rd. was closed between Ontario St. and Lister Rd. as the Ministry of Transportation investigated the cause of the collision.

Niagara police spokesperson Barry Ravenek says four tow trucks worked together to flip the overturned transport truck.
