Toronto-bound QEW closed at Nikola Tesla Blvd. after sign fell on vehicle overnight

The Toronto-bound QEW is closed at Nikola Tesla Boulevard Tuesday morning, after a sign fell on a vehicle overnight.
A large overhead sign fell on a passing vehicle, near Eastport Drive, around 1 a.m.
OPP say the sign was struck by a piece of construction equipment that was working on the highway.
The driver was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police initially said the driver was a man from Niagara Falls but now say he is from Toronto.

The OPP are investigating. Speaking on Morning Live at 8:30 a.m. OPP Sgt. Kerry Schmidt said they expect the closure to be in place for another few hours.
