Police are looking to identify two suspects after an attempted armed robbery at a pharmacy in Oakville on Monday night was stopped by a time-locked narcotics safe.

Officers say that around 8:20 p.m. two male suspects entered a Shoppers Drug Mart on Cornwall Road armed with a knife and a hammer.

The suspects proceeded to the back of the store, demanding that staff open the safe where narcotics are stored.

After staff informed the suspects that the locked safe was on a time delay that would prevent it from being opened, they fled in a dark coloured safe while the safe was still locked.
