The 2016 CFL schedule has been announced.
The Hamilton Tiger-Cats will open the 2016 CFL season by helping the Toronto Argonauts christen their new home and will be the first visiting team to visit BMO Field.
Hamilton’s home schedule is highlighted by the annual Labour Day Classic at Tim Hortons Field against long-time rival, The Toronto Argos which will kick off in prime time as the main event on Monday, September 5.
“The Tiger-Cats, in cooperation with our partners the CFL and TSN, are extremely enthusiastic about shifting the league’s marquee regular season matchup to prime time,” said Tiger-Cats Caretaker Bob Young. “We’re excited to showcase our great product and our great stadium experience to all of Canada and the world at a time of day when we can reach the greatest possible audience.”
Young continued, “The prime time kickoff also creates an opportunity to expand Labour Day festivities at Tim Hortons Field and deliver fans an enhanced game day experience in a day-long lead-up to this premier event.”
The Ticats home game will kick off Friday, July 1st at 7pm against the B.C. Lions at Tim Hortons Field.
