Teen charged after student stabbed at St. Catharines high school

Police have charged a 15-year-old boy following a stabbing at a St. Catharines high school that sent a student to hospital.

Officers responded shortly before 11 a.m. to St. Catharines Collegiate High School for reports of an assault.

Police arrived to find a 15-year-old boy suffering from a stab wound. Paramedics then transported him to an out-of-town trauma centre, but he was later released and continues to recover at home.

Niagara police arrested another 15-year-old student from Thorold at the school. He was charged with assault with a weapon.

The teen is scheduled to appear in a St. Catharines court on Friday.
