Swoop flights between Hamilton, Las Vegas suspended for 3 months

Those betting on travelling to Las Vegas from Hamilton International Airport are out of luck.
Swoop spokesperson Julia Brunet says its flights between Hamilton and Sin City have been suspended between July 26 and Oct. 28.
“It is never our intention to disrupt our traveller’s plans,” Brunet said in an email to CHCH News.
“We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience and are committed to providing travellers with as much notice as possible, re-accommodation options where available or a full refund.”

The airline says the Hamilton to Las Vegas route is the only flight in the city affected by the change.
Brunet says the schedule adjustments were made to “balance operational capacity and published flying to mitigate potential disruptions during peak travel periods.”
The airline says this is a common industry practice.
The local suspension comes nearly one month after WestJet announced it will wind down operations at its budget carrier Swoop by October.
