St. Catharines woman charged after police seize $21K in magic mushrooms

A St. Catharines woman has been charged after police seized over $21,000 in magic mushrooms.

Officers opened an investigation into the distribution of illegal drugs in July. Detectives then executed a search warrant on Wednesday at a dispensary called Fun Guyz on St. Paul St. between Queen and William streets.

Police arrested an employee and recovered 2,119 grams of magic mushrooms, which is worth approximately $21,190.

Carli Dawn Alicia Summers, 31, was charged with possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5,000, possession of psilocybin for the purpose of trafficking, and trafficking psilocybin.

Summers is scheduled to appear in a St. Catharines court on Sept. 14.
