St. Catharines man charged in child sexual exploitation investigation

Niagara Regional Police have arrested a St. Catharines man in connection with a sexual exploitation investigation involving children.

Detectives with the Internet Child Exploitation (ICE) Unit initiated an investigation in August 2022 to look into the sexual exploitation of children on the internet.

In the early hours of this morning, police executed a search warrant at a residence in St. Catharines.

James Allan Taylor, 57, of St. Catharines was arrested and charged with one count of unlawful access to child pornography and two counts of unlawful possession of child pornography.

Taylor is scheduled to appear in court on Oct. 26 in St. Catharines.

The Niagara Regional Police Service is a member of the Provincial Strategy to Protect Children from Sexual Abuse and Exploitation on the Internet.

They work to conduct investigations into internet child exploitation offences in partnership with numerous Ontario police services.
