St. Catharines man, 38, arrested in illegal drug investigation

Niagara police have arrested a man from St. Catharines in relation to an illegal drug investigation.
Investigators searched an apartment located on Page St. near Cross St. on Wednesday. They seized 492 grams of suspected fentanyl, 400 suspected hydromorphone pills, 3.9 grams of suspected cocaine and one taser.
Officers also seized $210 believed to have been acquired through the proceeds of crime.

Kory James Edwin Johnsen, 38, has been arrested following the investigation.
Johnsen is facing multiple drug and weapon-related charges, including possession of prohibited devices or ammunition and possession of cocaine and other drugs for the purpose of trafficking.
He is scheduled to attend a bail hearing at a St. Catharines courthouse later Thursday.
