SIU investigating after barricaded man in Oakville hit by less-lethal weapon

Ontario’s police watchdog is investigating after an officer fired a less-lethal weapon at a 22-year-old man in Oakville.
Halton police were called to a home on MacDonald Rd. in connection to a dispute around midnight on Friday.
According to the Special Investigations Unit (SIU), a 22-year-old man barricaded himself inside a residence, resulting in an interaction with the police during which he was hit by a round from an ARWEN.

Following the incident, the man was taken to hospital for an assessment. The SIU says the man did not sustain any serious injury.
Currently, the police watchdogs have identified one subject and seven witness officials in relation to this case.
