SIU investigate after Hamilton police cruiser hits 40-year-old man

The province’s police watchdog is investigating a collision early Wednesday morning between a police vehicle and a 40-year-old man.

Officers had entered a parking lot in the area of Bay Street South and Bold Street at around 2 a.m. when they had hit the man.

Emergency crews took the man to hospital for a serious injury.

The Special Investigations Unit was notified and invoked their mandate to investigate, assigning three investigators and one forensic investigator to the case.

Anyone with information or video is asked to contact the SIU.
