Sir John A. Macdonald statue in Hamilton vandalized

A statue of Sir John A. Macdonald at Gore Park in Hamilton has been vandalized.
Hamilton Police confirm they have been called about the incident and an officer was sent to the area Monday morning.
The statue was covered in red paint and the words “land back” were spray-painted next to it.
They say they believe this happened between 1 a.m. and 3:30 a.m. Monday morning and that “a handful of people were involved.”
