Single-vehicle rollover in Wainfleet kills 49-year-old driver

A 49-year-old man from Wainfleet is dead after a single-vehicle crash Thursday night.

Niagara police were called around 5 p.m. on Thursday for reports of a crash involving a 2013 black Dodge Ram pick-up truck in the area of Regional Road 24 and Willford Road.

Investigators say the truck was traveling south on Regional Road 24 when it left the roadway for unknown reasons and flipped over.

The driver of the truck, a 49-year-old man from Wainfleet, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The collision reconstruction unit has taken over this investigation with assistance from the forensics unit.
