Shoutout to everyone involved in the District School Board of Niagara Special Olympics

A shout out to all the participants, volunteers and organizers at the 16th annual District School Board of Niagara Special Olympics.
On Friday, more than 700 student athletes gave it their all at Centennial High School in Welland.
The DSBN Special Olympics is finally here! Keem was chosen to be this year’s Torch Bearer. Keem is in Grade 6 at Woodland and has been so excited about this year’s event, that he’s been telling anyone and everyone about his special role. pic.twitter.com/SnSPgOFY0e

It was the first time in two years they have been able to compete in person. The last two Special Olympics in Niagara were held virtually.
The motto for the day was, “Yes.” If the athletes had a favourite event and wanted to compete again and again, the answer is “yes.”
Organizers say watching the athletes smile and do their best was the highlight of the day.
