Scooter crash in Niagara Falls sends man to hospital with life-threatening injuries

A 30-year-old scooter driver is in hospital with life-threatening injuries after colliding with a vehicle in Niagara Falls on Monday afternoon.

Niagara police say the crash happened around 2:30 p.m. near Drummond Road and Frederica Street.

A 72-year-old Ohio man was driving southbound on Drummond Road when the scooter sideswiped the rear driver side of his Mercedes, causing the St. Catharines man to fall off of his scooter.

Paramedics transported the scooter driver to an out-of-region hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Roads in the area were closed for the investigation and reopened at approximately 8:05 p.m.
