Sarah Jama pursues legal review of censureship after statements on Israel-Hamas war

Queen’s Park has confirmed to CHCH News that Sarah Jama has served the legislature with a notice.

According to the clerk’s office the independent MPP for Hamilton Centre will be asking for a judicial review of the legislature’s censure motion.

Jama was ejected from the NDP party and censured by Queen’s Park in October over a slew of comments on the Israel-Gaza war.

A meeting was held Wednesday by the Hamilton Centre Ontario NDP riding association.

The riding association discussed three resolutions concerning Jama, and all of them were approved.

It includes a demand to reverse the expulsion of Jama from the NDP caucus, a resolution to call for a provincial NDP leadership review and a demand for the Ford government to lift the censure of Jama, who can no longer speak in the legislature.
