Red Arrows to put on aerial display over Niagara region

First Published:

If the weather holds, part of the Niagara region is in for a treat on Wednesday.

The Royal Air Force Aerobatic Team, the Red Arrows, will be doing a photo flight between 5 and 6 p.m. over Lake Ontario, between Grimsby and St. Catharines.

The Red Arrows are on five-week tour during the Royal Canadian Air Force’s centennial celebrations.

An important addition to the display is one of the world’s only two remaining operational Lancaster planes, originating from Hamilton.

The planes were notably used by the Royal Canadian Air Force during the Second World War.

Following the performance in Niagara Wednesday afternoon, the Red Arrows will participate in the Canadian International Air Show over the long weekend.
