Ontario Provincial Police have reopened a portion of Highway 403 in Burlington several hours after a motorcyclist died in a crash Monday morning.

Emergency crews were called around 9:40 a.m. to Waterdown Road and Highway 403, where a motorcycle and SUV collided.

Officers say a 23-year-old Hamilton man who was riding the motorcycle died at the scene. The driver of the SUV did not sustain any injuries and remained at the site of the crash to try to help the motorcyclist.

All eastbound lanes of Highway 403 between Waterdown Road and the Highway 407-QEW split were closed, but reopened shortly after 2:30 p.m.

Police continue to investigate the cause of the crash and have not yet released the identity of the motorcycle rider.
