Police uncover over $170,000 worth of drugs during bust in Brantford

Police in Brantford uncovered over $170,000 worth of illicit drugs on Friday after they executed a search warrant at an address on Tecumseh Street.

The warrant was carried out by the Tactical Intelligence Generated Enforcement and Response Unit (TIGER) and stems from an investigation that was started in July into the trafficking of fentanyl within the City of Brantford.

Officers seized approximately 609 grams of suspected fentanyl, approximately 410 grams of suspected crystal methamphetamine, approximately 10 grams of suspected cocaine and a quantity of prescription pills, consisting of hydromorphone and Percocet.

Police say the total estimated street value of the seized drugs is $174,140.

The following items were also seized from the residence:

  • Ammunition
  • Digital scale
  • Multiple cell phones
  • Winchester Model 94 Rifle

A 40-year-old woman and a 19-year-old man were arrested, both residents of Brantford.

They face charges related to the possession for the purpose of trafficking and the unauthorized possession of a firearm.
