Police seize 6 firearms and 100K in illicit drugs from Hamilton home

Hamilton police have charged two people after seizing six firearms and $100, 000 worth of illicit drugs from a home on the Hamilton Mountain on Friday.

Officers executed a search warrant in the area of Mohawk Rd. and Upper Gage Ave. in connection with an on-going investigation.

During the search they located large amounts of cocaine and methamphetamine, three shotguns, three rifles, over 580 rounds of ammunition and a large quantity of Canadian currency.

Two suspects have been arrested and charged in connection with the seizure.

Joshua Weller, 38, of Hamilton faces six counts of possession of a firearm, four counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking and proceeds of crime under $5000.

Thirty-eight-year-old Danielle Waun of Hamilton has been charged with six counts of possession of a firearm, two counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking and proceeds of crime under $5000.

Investigators say both the accused are known to police.
