Police seek suspects in assault of 3 people after large Thorold party

First Published:

Police are searching for suspects accused of assaulting three people after a large party involving underage drinking in Thorold last weekend.

Officers responded around 10:30 p.m. Saturday to a home on Winterberry Boulevard to help clear a crowd of more than 200 people.

They say the crowd included a mix of young adults between the ages of 18 and 20 and younger teens, with some believed to be from outside of the Niagara Region.

Investigation determined that the event was a planned party with entertainment in the form of a DJ.

As the party was dispersed, police say small groups of partygoers continued to loiter on nearby streets.

Around 12:13 a.m. Sunday, emergency responders received a report of an assault that had just occurred in the area of Silver Maple Road and Winterberry Boulevard.

Police arrived to find three people suffering from injuries that were the result of being punched, kicked and stomped on.

Paramedics treated a 59-year-old woman, 28-year-old woman and 27-year-old man at the scene.

Initial investigation found that a group of partygoers had been found trespassing on one of the victim’s property.

When they were told to leave, a group of 10 people began assaulting one of the female victims. As her family and a friend came to help her, they were also assaulted.

The group left the scene before police arrived.

The second suspect is described as a Black woman between the ages of 17 and 19 with black hair with two large braids extending to her waist. She was wearing black mesh off-the-shoulder top and a short white skirt.
