Police search for 2 suspects after Niagara Falls bank robbed

Police in Niagara are searching for two suspects after a bank was robbed in Niagara Falls yesterday night.

Niagara Regional Police received a call around 8 p.m. about a robbery that had just occurred at Meridian Credit Union located at 4789 Portage Rd.

Staff told responding officers that two men entered the bank, brandished a handgun, and demanded cash.

Police say employees at the bank did not receive any injuries during the robbery.

The two suspects were able to flee the scene with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Police describe suspect number one as a Black man, 6-foot-tall and approximately 50-years-old with a slim build.

Suspect number two is described as a Black man, 5-foot-9, approximately 30-years-old, with a medium build. At the time of the robbery he was wearing a grey hooded sweater with the word “BARRIE” written on the left chest and a red maple leaf logo underneath it.

Police say the suspects fled the scene in a white Dodge Caravan.
