Police release photo of suspect wanted in fatal Niagara Falls stabbing

Niagara police are asking for the public’s help in identifying the suspect wanted for fatally stabbing a man early Wednesday morning.

Police responded to calls of a stabbing that had escalated from a fight between a group of people on Victoria Avenue between Morrison and Simcoe streets shortly before 3 a.m.

Investigators say the man was stabbed with a knife during the fight and left on the ground.

Emergency crews treated the man at the scene and transported him to a local hospital, where he later died from his injury.

Investigators have released images of the suspect who is wanted for second-degree murder.

They believe the suspect may have sustained an injury to their head during the interaction with the victim.

Police say the suspect is encouraged to surrender themselves into police custody.
