Police investigating after missing Brantford man found dead

Brantford Police say the inquiry into the death of a missing man is now a homicide investigation after the autopsy revealed obvious signs of trauma to his body.

A resident called police on November 21 and said they believed they had found a body in a field near West Street and the Highway 403 overpass.

Police went to the scene and confirmed it was the body of 45-year-old Jeffrey James Roberts.

Roberts hadn’t been seen or heard from since November 5 and was reported missing by his family on November 11.

Police are asking anyone with information regarding Robert’s activities or who may have come in contact with him to call the Major Crime Unit at 519-756-0113 ext. 2265.
