Police investigating deadly shooting in central Hamilton

Hamilton police are investigating a murder in central Hamilton Wednesday night.

Emergency crews were called to the area of Gibson Ave. and Cannon St. E around 10:30 p.m.

A man with gunshot wounds was found in an alleyway between Gibson Ave. and Birch Ave.

The 38-year-old victim, who police say was from the Hamilton area, died in hospital.

This is the city’s seventh homicide of the year.
