Police investigate kayaker found dead in Norfolk County

Ontario Provincial Police are investigating after a man was found floating in the water dead on Saturday evening near Turkey Point.

Officers responded to a report at around 7 p.m. of an unresponsive kayaker about one kilometre from Turkey Point Marina in Norfolk County.

Emergency crews along with the Canadian Coast Guard say they retrieved the man from the water and brought him to the shore before pronouncing the man dead.

Detectives say they found a yellow and black Folbot kayak nearby.

Police have not been able to identify the man, but describe him to be in his 50s.
