Police investigate homophobic graffiti at Port Colborne High School

Police are investigating after homophobic graffiti was found on doors and concrete at Port Colborne High School on Monday.
Officers say the vandalism took place between 9 p.m. Friday and 6 a.m. Monday.
Investigators say an unknown suspect(s) went on the school property and spray painted “profanity and derogatory phrases towards the 2SLGTBQQIA+ community.”
A spokesperson for the District School Board of Niagara says it cost nearly $2,000 to clean up the graffiti as soon as it was discovered.
“DSBN does not tolerate discrimination, harassment or hatred of any kind, no matter what form it comes in,” the school board said in an email to CHCH News.
“We will continue working hard to provide school environments that are inclusive, welcoming and free from discrimination.”
Anyone with information about this incident or the suspects is asked to contact detectives at 905-688-4111, option 3, ext. 1009058.
