Police investigate double fatality on Ottawa Street in Hamilton

Hamilton police have opened an investigation after discovering two deceased people in an apartment on Ottawa Street on Thursday.

Around 1 p.m., emergency officials were dispatched to a residence on Ottawa Street near Main Street.

Police told CHCH News on Friday they received a call from residents within the multi-unit building, who expressed concern for a neighbour that had not been seen in days.

Officers took to social media to say they were conducting an investigation, and asked that people avoid the area while that took place.

Once inside the apartment unit, they found two individuals. Both were pronounced deceased on scene.

Police say at this time, there are no suspects being sought, and the identities of the deceased are being withheld pending contact with next of kin.

No further details have been released.
