Police continue to search for man wanted in assault at Main Street apartment

UPDATE: Hamilton Police say Jason Anthony Long was arrested Tuesday night.
Hamilton police are still searching for a man wanted for attempted murder in an assault earlier this month but say charges could be upgraded.
Jason Anthony Long, 27, is wanted for attempted murder and robbery following an incident at 646 Main St. E on Feb. 10.

Police say a 30-year-old man was invited into the home of an acquaintance when he was attacked.
Police say the victim is still on life support and his prognosis is not good.
“Decisions are to be made on whether medical intervention will be withdrawn,” says a Hamilton police news release.
Officers arrested a 33-year-old female resident of the apartment when she returned to the scene.
Madelene Peternel, who is also known as Madeleine Divers, is charged with robbery and attempted murder.
Police say if the victim dies, the current charges against her will be upgraded to first-degree murder. The charges on the arrest warrant for Long will also be amended.
Investigators are working on identifying a third suspect.
