Police charge man, 31, in Hamilton bar shooting

Hamilton police have arrested and charged a man in connection with a shooting outside of a bar earlier this month.

Officers responded to a report of gunshots fired in the area of Crockett and East 34th streets shortly after 12 a.m. on May 7.

Investigators say no injuries have been reported at this time.

Police arrested the alleged gunman Wednesday. Joseph Charles Soules, 31, of Hamilton has been charged with 11 separate offences, including reckless discharge of a firearm and possession of a loaded prohibited firearm.

Officers also carried out search warrants at a home and in a vehicle on the west Hamilton Mountain where they found a loaded prohibited firearm and $100,000 worth of illegal drugs.
