Police catch one driver attempting to run after Welland car crash

Emergency crews responded to the scene of a two-vehicle collision in Welland yesterday afternoon and had to catch one driver as he attempted to flee the scene of the crash.
Niagara Regional Police say two vehicles collided shortly after 3 p.m. at the intersection of Moyer Rd. and Biggar Rd., outside of Welland.
One of the drivers attempted to flee the scene and ran into a nearby field before being apprehended by officers.
Police say the man was in medical distress and was transported to hospital by paramedics.
T-bone collision. All occupants are out of the vehicles. No extrication required.

A woman driving the other vehicle was also taken to hospital.
Police say they have not laid any charges at this time and the collision is still under investigation.
