Hamilton police are asking for community help investigating a sexual assault that happened near Gourley Park earlier in September.

Officers received a report of sexual assault Sept. 3 at around 9 p.m. on a walking trail near Brigadoon Drive on Hamilton Mountain.

The department learned that someone was walking in the area before being approached and assaulted by a man.

Detectives are looking for information on a man that they describe as over six-feet tall with a black beard, who was wearing a dark or black oversized hoodie and dark or black long pants.

Investigators are asking anyone with home video or vehicle dash camera footage for the times between 8:30 and 9:30 p.m. of that night to contact police.
