Police are searching for the body of a 9-year-old who fell through the ice at Peacock Point

A young boy was believed to have drowned in Lake Erie.

The boy’s family was too upset to speak, but a neighbour speaking on their behalf has identified the 9-year-old to CHCH news as Alex Ottley.

The neighbour says he jumped in to save his friend who had slipped into the frigid water.
