About Jason

Like many broadcasters, Jason Gaidola’s career journey leads right back home to Hamilton. Growing up in the Stinson neighbourhood, he attended St. Patrick Elementary and Cathedral High School. After receiving an accounting diploma at Mohawk College, Jason switched gears and took off to Toronto where he eventually graduated from the College of Sports Media in 2017.

Upon graduation, Jason began his journey at Rogers Sportsnet as an associate producer. His on-air break came months later at CKPR Thunder Bay. In 2018, he moved to Winnipeg where he spent a year as a reporter for CTV News. The following year, he travelled back to the “Hammer” and joined the CHCH News team.

This avid sports fan turned news reporter loves adventure, concerts, dog walks, laughs and family time.

On assignment, Jason always tells himself “We’re going to learn something new today!”
