Woman critically injured after being struck while walking on Highway 403 in Burlington

A woman has been hospitalized after being hit by a transport truck while walking on part of Highway 403 in Burlington.
Burlington OPP say they received a call about a woman walking on the highway just after 12:30 a.m. Monday.
Not long after, they say she was struck by a transport truck.
The Waterdown exit was closed for about four and a half hours while police investigated the scene.
The roadway has since reopened, and provincial officers say they’re currently working to identify the pedestrian.
She remains in hospital this morning with life-threatening injuries.
Police say the driver of the transport truck stayed on scene and fully cooperated with the investigation. No foul play is suspected.
