Peddles Pub shooting suspect photo released by Hamilton police

First Published:

Hamilton police have released a new suspect photo tied to a shooting investigation that launched over the summer.

Twenty-two-year-old Gary Patrick Cunningham allegedly shot two people outside of Peddles Pub and Restaurant on Aug. 24.

“The accused briefly left the altercation, but returned a short time later from inside the bar and shot the victims at close range,” the force said in a release earlier this week.

Both victims were taken to hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

In the same release, officials detailed another shooting incident that occurred over the summer.

Forty-four-year-old Kevin Johnson of Hamilton has been named as the suspect in a shooting that took place on June 23.

On Wednesday, Hamilton police announced that they had issued an arrest warrant for 44-year-old Kevin Johnson (Courtesy of the Hamilton Police Service).

The department says Johnson fired a gun at an unnamed victim following a “verbal argument” in an alleyway near Hess Street and Market Street.

Fortunately, the shot missed and the victim was able to flee the scene unharmed.

Anyone with information regarding either incident is asked to contact police.
