Parts of Ontario move into Stage 2 of re-opening

Most Ontario regions are moving into Stage two of the COVID-19 reopening plan.

Many businesses, personal care services and facilities can re-open with health and safety protocols in place.

  • Restaurants: patios
  • Personal care services: hair salons, beauty salons, tattoo studios
  • Personal services: personal training (outside of gyms), house sitting, personal organizer services
  • Shopping malls and centres 
  • Tour & guide services: walking and biking tours, winery and brewery tours
  • Film and television production can resume
  • Water recreation facilities swimming pools, water parks
  • Outdoor recreation:low contact activities, team sports if physical distancing

Safety protocols will includes physical distancing when possible, face coverings, timed entry and usage as well as limited access to certain facilities.

The current pandemic restrictions will stay in place for the Greater Toronto and Hamilton areas, which have a high concentration of COVID-19 cases.

Border regions such as Windsor-Essex, Lambton County and Niagara, as well as Haldimand-Norfolk will also not move to Stage 2.

The province is also starting to loosen other restrictions.

The limit on social gatherings will increase from five to 10.

People must still stay two metres away from anyone outside their own household.
