An overnight shooting in St. Catharines left one man in hospital.

The shooting happened in the area of Niagara Street and Church Street just before 1 am.

The victim was an 18-year old man who was transported to hospital and is expected to be okay.

Police do not have a suspect description at this time but do believe the shooting was targeted.
