OPP are searching for an armed and dangerous man they say stole multiple vehicles at gunpoint in Ingersoll and Norfolk County.

The first robbery, which happened in Ingersoll around noon on Sunday, sent one man to hospital with a gunshot wound.

Police say a man was working at a nearby business when he came out to find a person in his pickup truck.

A verbal argument turned physical and police say the suspect shot the truck owner, who was taken to hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries.

Police say the stolen vehicle was later involved in a crash at Cockshutt Rd. and Concession 2 of Townsend in Norfolk County.

They say the man stole a pickup truck from a Good Samaritan who stopped to help with the crash. The vehicle was later located.

The man was described to police as white, in his 30s or 40s, between 5’6 and 5’8 and 150 to 170 lbs. He was wearing a black coat with a hood and a hooded sweatshirt with both hoods pulled over his head.

He is said to have a pocked-marked face with sunken cheek bones, dark eyes, brown unkempt hair with a goatee.

Police say he is considered armed and dangerous and poses a threat to public safety.

Anyone with information is asked to contact police at 1-888-310-1122.
