Ontario reports 1,388 new COVID-19 cases, 15 deaths

Ontario is reporting 1,388 new cases of COVID-19 and 15 deaths.
This record number of new daily cases comes as the province completed 29,125 tests.
Ontario is reporting 1,388 cases of #COVID19. Locally, there are 520 new cases in Toronto, 395 in Peel, 100 in York Region, 72 in Halton and 50 in Niagara. There are 781 more resolved cases and over 29,100 tests completed.

This is the fifth straight day Ontario has seen new daily cases over 1,000.
Here’s how the numbers break down in our region:
Haldimand-Norfolk: 3 new cases, 29 active cases
Brant: 5 new cases, 78 active cases, 2 in hospital
Niagara: 63 new cases, 279 active cases, 3 in hospital
Halton: 37 new cases, 449 active cases, 2 deaths, 10 in hospital
Hamilton: 34 new cases, 367 active cases, 2 deaths, 16 in hospital

A total of 3,260 people have died from the virus. Of those, 2,080 were residents in long-term care.
There are 95 long-term care homes in Ontario reporting an outbreak.
Across the province, 422 people are hospitalized with COVID-19. 82 are in intensive care and 54 of those are on ventilators.
Another 781 cases have been marked as resolved.
There were 159 new cases of the virus reported in the province’s schools.
